KDA207: Design Studio: Collaboration
Rethinking Tasmanian Education was a 13-week collaborative design project that explored how to improve educational outcomes and student engagement in Tasmania’s public primary school system. As part of a team, the project combined stakeholder engagement, research, workshop design, and iterative development to understand different perspectives across the education system.
The project included a stakeholder roundtable with teachers, students, and education representatives, followed by developing a pilot workshop focused on students in Grades 2-6. Activities encouraged discussion about schooling experiences, priorities, and possible improvements.
The final outcome brought these findings together into a detailed session plan, workshop resources and an education charter proposing a more flexible, level-based learning system that supports student autonomy, confidence and practical skill development.
